Panic Room
Panic Room is a Thriller genre based film. Panic Room about a single woman who is divorced who moves into a house with her daughter, they see a room where the film is all based on. The opening sequence of Panic Room has very thriller music to the background. We see that there a buildings everywhere and no one is to be seen so in other words, its where the place is deserted and no one can help and this gives the audience a head start to what the film is going to be based on thriller/horror. The music that is used in the opening scene is to represent the film to be a serious thriller film that is not comedy or some other genre.
In the opening sequence of the film, we see that there a lot of buildings and no one is to be seen and the place is deserted and if someone does need help, then there will be no one there to help them. The characters we are introduced are 2 women and a girl. We don’t get to see much of them in the two minutes of the film. The opening sequence that reveals about the setting of the film in a way to the audience that they can get a head start to what is going to happen in the film, and that is where we can see that someone is going to be in trouble and no-one is going to be there to help them so that they have to help themselves. The camera shots that are used in the opening sequence are mostly Ariel shots and Long shots and this is to show how big the place is and mostly what kind of environment the film is going to be set in. The editing in the opening sequence was where the writings or the credits are edited in to the opening film to show to the audience that whom this films is made by and who’s the main character, the speed of the film is medium and not so quick and easy to read the credits and rhythm of the film is thriller and this tells us as audience that this films going to be horror.

The instruments that are used are heavy noted where this shows that the film is going to be horror and some action is going to be present.
